I had the honor of joining an amazing faculty and participating in the 2023 Digital Orthopaedics Conference San Francisco (DOCSF) in May 2023. Thanks to University of California, San Francisco Orthopedics and Stefano Bini for bringing together a great conversation about value based care in Orthopedics.
I joined a panel discussion on the topic of technology and advancing value-based care. We discussed the present and future of value based care programs Surgeons including Dr. Steve Schutzer, MD, Value based physician Dr. Zeev N. Kain, MD. MBA., Dr. John JP Warner MD, and Dr. Amit Kunte MD, PHD from McKinsey.
Here we discussed what quality is, how to measure quality in Orthopedics, and when specialty care models become more prevalent. We spent significant time focusing on alternative payment models that connected primary care to specialty care and attributed the specialist to the episode at the beginning of the musculoskeletal injury.
